2 Building a Messerschmitt BF 109F Nitro RC Plane Chapter 6http://www.nitroplanes.com/cmpmebf10h12.html

What the Pro say…
Simply the best ARF warbird I have ever seen. It’s a whole new level for CMP. Quality is top notch. It goes together quickly, but keep in mind that this is a somewhat complicated airplane with lots of features, so you are not going to get it together in two evenings.
The fuse is fiberglass, prepainted. It has a tremendous amount of detail.
The tailwheel is in the scale position, rather than just sitting on the rudder post, and it has a neat linkage to connect to the rudder.
There are multiple scale details on the fuse, such as seperately molded fiberglass exhaust stacks, airscoops, belly pan, and a neat belly tank that uses standoffs for better appearance rather than just being stuck to the bottom of the fuse.

The wings are very cool. There are three servos per wing…flaps, ailerons, and airbrakes. All servos mount from the bottom with the neat CMP servo mounts with fairings, and all hinging and horns are done with hinge points and hinge points for better appearance. The airbrakes are very cool, one pops up from the bottom and the other from the top, using a clever provided mechanism.
The plane is set up for retracts, and the retract mounts are hardwood and well-secured. Fixed gear with scale strut covers and gear doors are also included.
The spinner is amazing, about six inch diameter, of scale profile, made just for this model.
The canopy frame is prepainted.
The wingtips have places for lights to be inset, and clear plastic covers are included.
The stabs are airfoiled, and the LE of the elevators is inset into the stabs in a scale manner.
The rudder is built up and fairs neatly into the rudder post.
Soft mounts are included for a glow engine, a neat bonus.
Mine is going to be electric, with a Monster Power 160 motor and two Maxamps 6s 5000 batteries and a Castle Creations 85 controller.
I am beyond pleased, as a matter of fact, I am floored, by the quality and low price…flight report ASAP… Follow it here

sometimes this is …
sometimes this is due to a bad crystal in your reciever, or possibly interference from the engine be sure to use nylon rod to the throttle servo, if all else failes try using 2.4 ghz rather than fm

I just wanted to …
I just wanted to correct your terminology with regard to switches. The flap switch is a three position switch and the other switch you mentioned is a two position switch. It looks like the Robart landing gear system controls sequencing but not speed. It looks like it would be a great electric.

I recently equiped this aircraft with the 550 series from robart with the robo struts, the retro fit runs around 400.00 by the time I finished, you can see it fly with the new retracts in the flight video.

Imagine if you had …
Imagine if you had it electric, there would be NO cowl opening! By the way is there any landing gear covers? they look a bit cheap and don’t do the plane justice when its just the wire like that.

I truly love this …
I truly love this plane and have been looking for this kind of kit for awhile . i fly at a field where nitro is not alowed since its a famr land and some noise issues . so my question is how hard would it be to convert this beauty to an electric version ?

If your equipping …
If your equipping it like mine and you take your time, you should be able to have it finished within 20 hours.

Can’t wait to see …
Can’t wait to see this baby fly with the up-grades you did to it. Your next build should be a P51 Mustang or a Corsair with all of the retractables. Keep up the good work..

Patience, the field is finally clear and I’m waiting on the weather to cooperate to do the first flight with video & stills. Within the next couple of days I should have it flown.

If you set yours up …
If you set yours up like this one, and don’t rush it just enjoy each step and you can have it done within 20 hours taking it slow and easy. THIS IS NOT A DIFFICULT BUILD! I really enjoyed it. and it you follow each chapter yours should come out perfectly. As soon as the weather cooperates I’ll have some flight shots and videos along with performance comments.

Really great, what is the total build time overall for a average skilled person? Will you publish flight vids?
