FlyZone Aero Scout EP RTF

by admin on March 1, 2010

2 FlyZone Aero Scout EP RTFhttp://www.flyzoneplanes.com The Aero Scout really stands out from other companies’ ready-to-fly electric planes! The Aero Scout has a very traditional look to it — more like a plane you’d see at the local airport. You use actual rudder control to steer this plane, and the controller itself is like nothing you’ve ever seen! The throttle is as simple as off or on, and there’s no wheel or sticks — a knob turns the rudder left or right. The charger for the Aero Scout’s on-board battery is built into the transmitter, to keep the action going at the park, playground, or wherever the urge to fly strikes!

I have changed my …
I have changed my views on the aero scout from my earlier comments. After cutting into the body, I found the rudder servo was binding. After breaking loose the servo from it’s mounting surface, repositioning, it is now working. Taking off the landing gear also helps. Lastly, purchase a battery charger. Using the receiver batteries to charge drains them a couple of flights. I am now having much fun with this little plane!

Save your money …
Save your money kids. This one barely flies. The rudder servo lasted only a couple of flights.

For what it’s worth …
For what it’s worth, I got one of these and the propellor shaft, not the propellor, but the shaft itself, broke off on the very first flight. No other damage to the plane – didn’t even break the plastic propellor, just the metal shaft it was on!

I would try getting …
I would try getting him a 3 channel Hobbico airplane. Three channels not only have throttle, and rudder, but they have an elevator also. You can get one for right around $100 Once he has a three or four channel, he’ll never want a 2 channel.
