by admin on March 1, 2010

2 Multiplex AcroMaster RC 3D FlyingCasual Sunday 3D flight with my Multiplex AcroMaster in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada. Setup details in vid. Highly recommended!!! :) I’ll toss up a better extreme 3D vid to better show-off this plane’s capabilities soon.

Well, I’ve pretty …
Well, I’ve pretty much retired my AcroMaster now, or at least for awhile. She has over 300 flights on her and by the end I was able to do more heavy 3D manouvers like hovers/tail-touches, harriers, low knife edge passes, better waterfalls, walls, etc. Airframe is showing a bit of hangar rash now and isn’t flying very true anymore. Motor burnt up while programming as well.

I just ordered 3 new 3D EPP Yak 55′s (Leadfeather off RCGroups’ design). Can’t wait! 3D foamies to the extreme!!!

Haha sure am man! …
Haha sure am man! This is directly behind Tudor Estates in Lethbridge. I don’t live there as it’s my wife’s familie’s place (we’re in Calgary), but do fly there often when we visit. A guy 3 doors down also has a few planes since I got him into the sport. My brother lives just outside Lethbridge and I’m sure would like someone to fly with as well. Toss me an email or msg on here and I’ll give you some contact info. Where in Lethbridge do you generally fly?

Are you flying …
Are you flying behind Tudor estates in that vid? I just bought a CAP-232 hope to have it out as soon as we get rid of this spring snow that just dumped last night. Would be great to find other people in Lethbridge with electric models.

Thanks. I should …
Thanks. I should really get my act together and put up a better 3D vid. I’ve since added an aluminum landing gear and have over 100 flights on her. I used to land with low rates, but I find I’m not used to the controls after flying on high rates, so landing on high rates is actually much easier.

Oh good thinking …
Oh good thinking with the flaps! I use a playing field and I’m tired of it nosing over when I land – can I ask, do you land it on high rates or low? Good vid man!

Wow, women that understand and appreciate RC!!

Tell me where I can find them! :D

Seriously though, nice vid and flying! Good job! I’m after a ParkMaster3D for my 3rd model.

I just replaced the …
I just replaced the shaft 2 flights ago as I wanted to test for vibration, but I believe it’s fine. The prop is also balanced. The hollow foam nose makes it amplify the ressonation which makes it seem louder than it is.

I believe the AUW …
I believe the AUW came out around 1000g if I recall correctly. I haven’t measured the COG since building it, but just go by the recommended settings, and set it with the plane inverted. I believe mine was 115-120mm? I simply adjust my COG w/ the lipo every time I fly, depending on what I feel like. You know it’s spot on for 3D if you don’t need hardly any stick input for inverted flight. For better high-alpha I even set it to fly tail heavy hands-off inverted.

Hi there!
I have …

Hi there!
I have acromaster too. It has almost exactly the same setup only that I used non-hobbycity servos :) I have the same radio too. :)
There is one information I would like to know and it wasn’t mentioned. How much is the flying weight and where have you set the CG?

And by the way, nice acrobatics ;) I wish i could do like this :)

might want a big ” …
might want a big “flimsyier” prop for slower flying but almost equal power, still great flight. idk about you but it seem a bit loud like vibration.
