Onboard video of RC plane flying in vicinity to wind turbines

2 Onboard video of RC plane flying in vicinity to wind turbinesThis video was taken using a Casio digital camera that was mounted on a Multiplex ‘Easy Star’ RC plane. The vicinity to the wind turbines made the flying more interesting and the video more impressive.

At the last minute of the fligt a rise in the motor pitch is noticeable. The motor overheated due to the windy weather conditions and the additional camera payload. As a result the hot motor shaft melted the plastic propeller and it came off.

Since the plane was already descending, I did not notice the loss of thrust until the very end. Instead of a low flyby, the flight ended in an impact in the cornfield.

airplane: Multiplex Easy Star
motor: standard Speed 400
battery: Kokam 2100 mAh 3S
propeller: Günther propeller (125x110mm)
camera: Casio Exilim Z-750
