What RC plane do you recommend?

by admin on February 21, 2010

I would like to get my fiance an RC plane for a late Christmas present.

I was wondering if any of you could help recommend a ready-to-fly RC plane that is around $250 or lower.

I know it’s hard to find good RTF planes at that price but I’d still like to treat him to something nice.

He has a Super Cub Electric RTF and a T-34 Mentor 25 ePTS RTF and some other electric glider. All his planes are electric and would like to get him another electric. He loves E-flite.

I really think he’d like a commercial airline inspired electric RC plane. I believe he’s very good at flying so maybe something challenging would be nice for him.

Also, I will be flying with this gift over to the UK where he lives so maybe not one of those "human sized" planes ha.

I live in Minnesota and we usually go to Hobbytown USA but I am able to order it online also.

I have found this plane… Jet Stream Type B7 RTF
(here is the website) http://www.ehobbies.com/hbs66488.html

Does it look any good? It looks a little beginner like to me and the AA batteries that is needed (for which I haven’t figured out why) make me question it.

I want to get him a more professional-like, challenging plane for him that is electric.

Sorry for so much information but I hope you can help!

Thank you in advance.

Deanna

Go to http://www.towerhobbies.com They have a wide variety of electric planes and they could have it shipped right over there to him so you didn’t have to take it with on your flight!
